Court rejects Odogwu Asaaba’s bail application in late Favour’s case

The Federal High Court has rejected the bail application filed by Ifeanyi Ogbonna, popularly known as Odogwu Asaaba, in connection with the death of Favour.

According to an update shared by Awele Ideal, a lawyer representing Favour’s family, the bail application was filed three weeks ago after Ogbonna’s legal team approached the court seeking his release.

The application was heard on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, with the court subsequently refusing to grant bail to the accused.

Following the ruling, Ogbonna remains remanded at the Ogwashi-Uku Maximum Correctional Centre in Delta State.

Awele Ideal said he continues to represent Favour’s family on a pro bono basis and would provide further updates as the case progresses.

“FIAT JUSTITIA RUAT CAELUM… let justice be done though the heavens fall,” the lawyer wrote.
